Pantreat ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.

Information We Collect
Personal Information
We may collect personal information that you voluntarily provide when you register for an account, including:

- Account credentials
- Username, profile information, and avatar photo
Dietary and Health-Related Information
If you choose to provide them, we collect your food allergies and dietary restrictions so we can tailor recipes and filter out unsuitable ingredients. We treat this information as sensitive: it is used only to personalize your experience within the app and is never sold or used for advertising.
Nutrition Data
If you use Pantreat's nutrition features, we collect the meals you log, associated calorie and macronutrient information, and the nutrition goals you set.
Social and Activity Data
When you use Pantreat's social features, we collect the content you share and your activity, including:
- Posts and photos you share
- Accounts you follow and that follow you
- Cooking activity, such as recipes you cook and save
Subscription and Payment Data
Subscriptions are processed by Apple or Google and managed through RevenueCat. We never see or store your credit card number or full payment details. The app stores only your subscription tier and entitlement status so we can unlock the features you've paid for.
Usage Data
We automatically collect certain information when you use the app, including:
- Pantry items and inventory data you add
- Recipe preferences and interactions
- App usage patterns and features accessed
- Device information (device type, operating system)
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve our services
- Generate personalized recipe recommendations
- Track your pantry inventory and expiration dates
- Send you notifications about expiring items (if enabled)
- Respond to your inquiries and provide customer support
- Analyze usage patterns to improve the app experience
- Protect against fraudulent or unauthorized activity
Data Storage and Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal information. Your data is encrypted both in transit and at rest.
While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party service providers to operate Pantreat. Each receives only the data needed to perform its service, and each has its own privacy policy addressing how it handles that information:
- Supabase — hosts our backend, database, file storage, and authentication. Receives your account data and the content you create in the app.
- OpenAI and Google Gemini — power AI recipe generation and the Sue assistant. Receive recipe text and relevant pantry and meal context needed to respond to your requests.
- Spoonacular — powers recipe search. Receives your search queries and ingredient terms.
- Instacart — enables grocery fulfillment. Receives the shopping list items you choose to send when you shop through Instacart.
- Sentry — collects crash and error diagnostics (device information and error reports) so we can fix bugs and improve stability.
- RevenueCat — manages subscriptions. Receives purchase and entitlement information from Apple or Google; never your card number.
AI and Automated Processing
Pantreat uses AI to make the app more helpful. The Sue assistant and our recipe recommendations use your data — such as your pantry items, dietary restrictions, allergies, nutrition goals, and cooking activity — to personalize suggestions and answer your questions.
This processing happens to provide the features you use; we do not use it to make decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.
Data Retention and Deletion
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services.
You can delete your account at any time using the in-app Delete Account flow, which permanently removes your account, stored files, and all associated data. You can also request deletion by contacting us at privacy@getpantreat.com.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share your information only in the following situations:
- With your consent
- To comply with legal obligations
- To protect our rights and safety
- With service providers who assist in operating our app
Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information, including:
- The right to access your personal data
- The right to correct inaccurate data
